The IPL of women i.e. Women’s Premier League has started. In the opening match of the third season, defending champion Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated hosts Gujarat giants by six wickets to begin the tournament . In the match, Richa Ghosh played such a stormy innings of 64 not out in 27 balls that the fans remembered MS Dhoni. Richa hit seven fours and four sixes in her innings. As Richa came on a delicate spot like the outstanding run rate of 12 runs per over, the fans missed Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
‘These are Dhoni’s mirror images’
After just 21 -year -old Richa’s innings, the fans compared him to Dhoni, who is considered one of the greatest finishers of white ball format cricket. A user posted on X, ‘Richa Ghosh worked like Dhoni for RCB.’ Someone wrote, ‘Richa Ghosh is MS Dhoni’s mirror image.’ Richa scored a brilliant average of 36 in WPL and a fierce strike rate of 145, so it would not be an exaggeration to call her Dhoni of women cricket.
